Damon Hughes was found having suffered serious injury at a house on the 100 block of Clark Street shortly before 1 a.m., Acting Union County Prosecutor Lyndsay V. Ruotolo said.
He was rushed to University Hospital in Newark, where he was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
The investigation into the shooting is being led by the Union County Homicide Task Force and assisted by members of the Hillside Police Department, Union County Police Department Ballistics Unit, and Union County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Unit.
